As a child I made drums of my mother's kitchenware and LOVED listening to music. At age 12, I started drum lessons, taught myself guitar, and started a band a few months after that. I have been writing and performing ever since.

My passion for music helped me earn a Bachelor's and Master's degree in music performance from Cal State Northridge. I continue to study, practice, write and perform music. Now passing on what I have learned is one of my life's passions.

Teaching Philosophy
My lessons focus on connecting you to your inner musical self. We will build skills and confidence for you to be able to play the music that you hear in your head, and to play your favorite music.
I believe studying music has ripple effects on other aspects of our lives. It helps us to to be mindful of subtle patterns, to

Connecting to Music
When you connect to your favorite music on a deeper level your curiosity and passion for music becomes internally motivated. This is where the "magic" happens - where practice-time flies by and the gift of music shows itself.

Life Skills
Musical skill rewards those who demonstrate perseverance and discipline. With me as your guide, music lessons are a fun way to sharpen those skills and go beyond your perceived limits. Children especially benefit from a well structured music lessons experience which provides lasting effects on self-esteem and resilience.
Performing
Expectation of performance is reserved for students who demonstrate the desire to perform. Most people enroll in music classes for fun and personal development not because of a grand vision of performance excellence. Until you say so, my lessons revolve around fun and developing a healthy connection with music.

I grew up in an environment of music appreciation. My grandfather owned a music school in Pittsburgh where he taught and employed teachers. He also played jazz guitar in local clubs to support his family of 7. All of my family and most of their friends played music. I immediately loved music and experienced how it could bring us together and help us share who we are. I began learning drums at the age of 6, and then guitar and piano at the age of 9. I have been writing, recording, performing, and teaching ever since. Sharing this passion and joy for music through teaching is one of my most favorite things.
Teaching Philosophy
I focus on each student’s musical interests and personal goals. Young students are guided through the basics with musical games, improvisation, and learning of their favorite songs. I balance the teaching content to each student’s preference – some students prefer more theory and reading, other students prefer to spend more time each lesson learning their favorite songs / pieces. All students learn their instrument, technique, important musical concepts, and how music helps us express what’s inside without words.
