When students see their peers perform in class they will want to meet or surpass their level. A group environment continuously encourages students to strive for excellence and be the best they can be. They will learn to be accountable for learning their part and being part of a performing ensemble for in-class performances.

Groups provide the opportunity for students to exchange valuable feedback, and support each other through challenges. The camaraderie that develops in groups helps students support each other through initial of learning to play a musical instrument realize a fluid performance of a musical piece.

Groups lend themselves to group activities and games reinforcing concepts in a variety of ways. Rather than simply copying the teacher, dynamic games are used to teach concepts. The variety of activities and exposure to new people keeps the material fresh and students engaged.

Groups provide the opportunity to apply performance skills and techniques immediately and on a regular basis. The class serves as its own audience. Musicians depend on an audience as well as other musicians to feel the power of music. And the thrill of playing in a band-like setting makes it all the more fun!

Class schedule/What To Expect

Classes run from January 25th to May 20th
-
Classes will be held on Monday, Thursday or Friday afternoon, or Saturday morning depending on enrollment

One Class per week

Make up classes and supplemental one-on-one tutoring available at no extra cost

One-on-One Class is Best for Experienced Students
After about one year of lessons students understand the concepts of practice and showing up prepared each week for class. That is also when students begin to develop their unique strengths and weaknesses. That is when individual attention is most beneficial.
Group Class is Best for Beginners
The first year of classes is crucial to learn the basic techniques, establish good practice habits, and develop a sense of accountability and self-motivation. Rather than going through that experience alone, students will have friends to share that experience with. Other students of similar age and ability will be working together and supporting each other through the challenge of developing the fundamental skills of being a musician. The social component of a group classes makes practicing more interesting and fun. That is impossible to replicate in one on one classes.
